what is the summary of the poem "Dust of Snow"

The poem Dust of Snow is about how Frost's outlook on life changes due to some dramatic event/incident. 'Shook dwon on me, The Dust of Snow' represent the trigger in his life which made him have a positive view on life. So instead of viweing a glass as being half empty he viewed it as being half full. The 'Crow' represent depression in this poem and the 'snow' purity, also 'hemlock tree' is a venomous tree. So what Frost is trying to portray is that a bad event has resulted in a positive outcome 'The way a crow, Shook down on me, The Dust of Snow', in the sense that it made him appreciate life rather than critise it. The poem has a 4-4-4-5 syllable, this shows a change in mood and outlook on life. The rhyme scheme is ABAB

Dust of snow is a beautiful poem written by the famous poet Robert Frost. Though the poem is very brief but has a significant meaning. this poem stands for guiding a person who has lost all hopes and is very sad. As in the poem, the falling of dust of snow has change the mood of the poet . The poet was sitting under a hemlock tree and was quit upset. The very small incident changed his sad mood into happy mood. So it teaches us that we should not be desperate but there is always an opportunity to change sad to happy mood

Dust of Snow by Robert Frost is a simple tale of having “snow” fall on the narrator to pull him from the unpleasant “mood” that he had previously been in. The simplicity, in the end, is the key element of the work as nature is shown as magnificent enough to bring a person into a pleasant mentality.....this is the summary

Dust of Snow Summary

The short poem by Robert Frost throws light upon the unimaginable healing power of nature and tiny things. From a bad mood to ill-health, there is nothing that can’t be cured by nature. The author was experiencing one such bad day when a crow’s movement near a hemlock tree dusted snow upon him. The snow instantly makes him happier. His day gets a lot better. Thus, the supremacy of nature as a whole made him realise how petty his problem was. The fact that hemlock tree is poisonous combined with crow being the indicator of doom and fear are used in the poem as the carriers of happiness in the life of narrator is ironical. The poet, through these objects has tried to highlight that sometimes creatures linked with negative aspects of life can be the bringer of change and happiness. Being outdoors in nature, with all it’s unpredictability can benefit anyone, anywhere at any time.
