FIIs stand for Foreign Institutional Investors. These are the institutional investors that are either the residents of a country or are registered in a country for trading purposes. They invest in all other countries except the one in which they are registered or are native of. A few examples of FII's are insurance companies, pension funds, mutual funds and merchant bankers.
