what is the law of paired factors
- Mendel assumed that hereditary factors exist in pairs.
- He proposed the idea of separation of paired factors during the formation of gametes, in his law of segregation.
- Mendelian law stating that for every pair of unit factors, each of them would assort independently into the newly formed gametes.
Note:Mendel stated that factors (Mendel's version of alleles) exist as pairs but it is generally not considered as law.
