what is the importance of bolting in rosette plants ?

Bolting refers to the internode elongation just prior to flowering. Under unfavourable conditions such as extreme of winter or summer,some rosette plants undergo bolting. This helps them to survive the unfavourable conditions and revive back on the arrival of favourable conditions.
