What is the difference between OTHERWISE and ELSE??????????

Though both the words 'otherwise' and 'else' mean almost the same, there is a slight difference in the tone that they present.

'Else' is used when the situation is not very strict and we need to be little polite. For example: Talk slowly or else the baby will wake up.

'Otherwise' is more strict and is usually used to share serious consequences. For example: You must study hard otherwise you might just fail in the exams.
