what is the difference between erect ,real & virtual.....?

Hi Aayushi!

An erect image is an image in which, the up-down reversal is not occurred. That is, the image will be standing like the object. For example, the image produced by a plane mirror is erect image.

An image which can be obtained on a screen is called real image and the image which cannot be obtained on a screen is called virtual image.

In case of mirrors, if the image is formed at the same side of the object, it is called real image. And, if the image is formed at the polished end (behind the mirror), it is called virtual image.

In case of lenses, image formed at the other end of object is called real, and image formed at same side is called virtual image.

Cheers!!

 Hi Aayushi.

An image formed on a screen is called Real image.

An image which is not obtained on screen is called Virtual image.

An image in which directions are the same as those in the object, in contrast to an inverted image is called erect image.

Best Wishes!
