What is the difference between Adult literacy rate and youth literacy rate as both are above 15 yrs above as explained in study material?

As mentioned in our study material, adult literacy rate indicates the percentage of literate population of age 15 years and above. 15 years and above implies any age that is numerically greater than 15 years.

On the other hand, youth literacy rate indicates the percentage of literate people between the age of 15 - 24 years. As this rate studies ability to read and write only among the youth, it studies the percentage of literate people only among the youth. This limit of upto 24 years is not applicable in adult literacy rate.
