WHAT IS REDUCING ATMOSPHERE?
An atmospheric condition in which oxidation is prevented by removal or absence of oxygen and other oxidising gases or vapours, and which may contain actively reducing gases such as hydrogen, carbon monoxide is called reducing atmosphere. The primitive atmosphere of earth is thought to be reducing atmosphere, containing CH4, NH3, H2 etc. gases but no oxygen.
