One should start by mentioning the essentials which include the title of the book, mention of the author and other relevant information related to publishing. One can also specify the type and genre of literature of the book. For instance, the book could be political, historical, sociological, biological or literary. Thus, mentioning the context is important.

Body of the Book Review – Description and Summary

This section preferably consists of two sections – the description and the summary. The description can have excerpts, lines, quotes or from the book that give valuable insight into the work. However, while reviewing the storyline, one has to make sure that the suspense of the story is not revealed.

The Critical Analysis

In this part, one needs to keep in mind the entire book isn’t criticized but only those points are taken into consideration which are intriguing. For example, if the book is on history, one can perhaps focus on their historical period, society, politics and culture. One’s personal opinion is important as it helps in shaping the entire analysis.
