What is History ? Why there is need to know the history ?

Those events that occurred before the invention of writing is classified as pre-history. The events that occurred after the invention of writing is called as history. Thus, history is defined as a record of the human past. A historian studies the recorded events in the past and interprets them in the present. It is very important to learn history and know the past in order to understand our present. Study of history helps us to understand our cultures, identities and human relations in a more clear perspective.
