what is difference between type, classification and properties

Classification means arranging or organizing something based on shared or common characteristics. For example: hydrocarbons are classified into Acyclic or open chain hydrocarbons and Cyclic hydrocarbons.

Type is used also to classify a group together while also describing the variety in the main group. At times the terms classification and type can be used interchangeably. For example, alkanes undergo different types of reaction: 1. Substitution, 2. Oxidation, 3. Isomerisation and 4. Aromatisation.

Properties: Properties is a word used to describe the characteristic of a group of molecules or atoms, group of elements, or an atom or a molecule. It is the characteristic of a matter.
