Biosafety level 1 is the least concern Biosafety level. It involves work with low risk microbes that don't cause any infection in workers on coming in contact. Normal hand washing is sufficient after working in this lab. Eg - E. coli
Biosafety level-3 involves higher level of Biosafety. It includes work on microbes that are either indigenous or exotic, and can cause serious or potentially lethal disease through inhalation. Example - yellow fever.
