what is cotton soil ?? to answer by experts only if they know it
Dear student,
Cotton soil is the soil which belongs to the group of clay soil montmorillonite. These kinds of soil expand when wet and shrink when dry. In dry condition these soil develops crack. These soil are best suited for growing cotton so they are called cotton soil or black cotton soil due to their brownish colour and suitability for growing cotton. They lack phosphoric acid, organic matter and nitrogen but are abundant in calcium, potash and magnesium. They are found in areas which is lava covered. Accumulation of lime is found at varying depth.
