what happens when
a)dilute sulphuric acid is added to a mixture of iron fillings and sulphur powder
b)dilute sulphuric acid is added to a mixture of iron fillings and sulphur powder heated to red hot followed by cooling

a. When dilute sulphuric acid is added to a mixture of iron fillings and sulphur powder, reaction occusrs between dilute sulphuric acid and iron filings that forms ferrous sulphate and evolution of hydrogen.

 Fe +  H2SO4 =  FeSO4 +  H2

b.   When dilute sulphuric acid is added to a mixture of iron fillings and sulphur powder heated to red hot followed by cooling, iron reacts with sulphur to form iron sulphide, FeS.  FeS formed reacts with sulphuric acid to form ferrous sulphate and release hydrogendisulphide gas.

Fe  +  S  FeS
FeS + H2SO4 = FeSO4 + H2S

If you heat iron filings ans sulphur to a sufficiently high temperature you form iron sulphide
Fe + S → FeS

If you add HCl to this the following reaction occurs:
FeS + 2HCl → FeCl2 + H2S
H2S gas is given off and iron chloride is produced,
