What happens to the rainwater that seeps through the top soil

Dear student,

The water that seeps into the ground poured into a pile of sand. However, most of the water flows along the land surface, some is used by the plants, some evaporates thus returns to the atmosphere.

The bed rock blocks the water, hence increasing the water table.
Some of the water evaporates.
This water is taken out with the help of bore wells.
