What does plant load factor measure?

The measure of average capacity utilisation is referred to as Plant Load Factor. In other words, it is a measure of the operational efficiency of the thermal power plants. The electricity generated is divided by the total production capacity to get PLF. A higher PLF implies higher generation of electricity and lower cost per unit.
