What does cheque issued but not cleared mean
Cheque issued but not cleared implies that the firm has issued cheque to its creditor or supplier but the cheque is not presented to the bank for its payment. Whenever a firm issues cheques to the third party it is recorded in the Bank Column of Cash Book immediately. However, the third party may not present the cheque to the bank for its payment on the same date. In such a situation, cheques issued are considered as cheque issued but not cleared.
