What do you mean by tributaries

Dear student, Tributaries are streams or rivers smaller in size which fall into a larger stream or a river. They do not flow directly into a sea or an ocean but always merge with a bigger stream or river. For example Gomati and Son are tributaries of river Ganga. Regards.
