What do you mean by indepence of the judiciary ? How far is it correct to say that Indian judiciary is independent ? Give any three arguments to support your ans.

Following conditions are suggested to ensure independence of judiciary:

  • The judiciary shall have jurisdiction over all issues of a judicial nature.
  •  The term of office of judges, their independence, security, adequate remuneration, conditions of service, pensions and the age of retirement shall be adequately secured by law. 
  • Promotion of judges, wherever such a system exists, should be based on objective factors, in particular ability, integrity and experience.

The judiciary is said to be indipendent ,If

We can say that it is independent because it is free of all these sort of points to very extent.
