what did the canterville ghost reveal about himself to virginia?

Dear student

During his conversation with Virginia, he reveals a lot about himself. He tells her that he must rattle his chains, groan and walk through the night because that is the reason for his existence and he reveals how he was locked up and starved to death by his late wife's brothers. He also reveals that he cannot gain peace and implores Virginia to help him gain redemption. He says that she must weep and pray for his soul, so that his suffering might finally end and that he may be at peace.
