What could have happened when virginia was with the ghost in the garden of death

The ghost describes what Virginia might see and hear in the garden. He says she might see fearful shapes and wicked voices that whisper to her, telling her to go back. Even as she followed the ghost, the little huntsmen on the tapestry asked her to go back. Horrible animals with lizard tails and protruding eyes blinked at her from the carved chimney piece telling her that she might never come back.
The ghost asked Virginia to weep for his sins and pray for his soul. Since she was a sweet, young and innocent girl, the Angel of death would have shown mercy towards the Canterville ghost. We know that she did these because, the ghost was able to move on to the afterlife peacefully.
We do not know exactly what happens in the garden of death as she does not reveal this to her family, not even to her own husband. However, she tells her husband that by visiting the garden of death with the ghost, she learnt the meaning of Life and the significance of Death, and why love was stronger than both.
