What are the types of galaxies

Dear Student,

Three types of galaxies are present in the universe namely elliptical, spiral and irregular. Spiral galaxies are flattened and spiral in shape. Stars are scattered around the centre in random orbits. These galaxies are bright.
Elliptical galaxies have smooth, ellipsoidal shape. These galaxies are dim. 
Irregular galaxies have no shape. They are structured in a random manner.
