what are measurement errors?

Dear Student,

Measurement errors are the errors made by the enumerator while collecting the data from a set of population/universe. For example- if the enumerator is collecting data on  expenditure of households on various items of consumption, he shall get only the approximate figure, resulting in measurement errors.

the true score theory is a good simple model for theory model for measurement, but it may not always be an accurate reflection of reality. In particular,it assumes that any observation is composed of the true value plus some random error value.
