what are effects on the materialistic society due to fickle minded people?

Dear student
Given below is the answer to your question.

The poem Fog by Carl Sandburg is a short stanza that conveys a deep message. The fog is a representation of the changing seasons and the vague realities. When it is foggy, it is difficult to see far and therefore one's vision is limited. In the same manner, fickle minded people or inconstant people are short sighted in their perspectives. Their selfish attitude and narrow mindedness causes the society to be narrow minded. In relation to the materialistic society, it creates a world of individuals who do not have an opinion of their own and are not grounded in their stand. Their thoughts waver and also the generations become stingy and selfish. The poem also uses the image of a cat slowing approaching to convey how this selfish attitude creeps in slowly, without making its presence known. Thus the effects of fickle minded people are negative and does not benefit the society in any way.
