what are central and peripheral mesosomes??

Infolding of the plasma membrane deep into the cytoplasm, near to the nucleus are known as central mesosomes. They help in DNA replication and cell division.

Infolding of the plasma membranes which remains at the periphery of cell close to the cell membrane are known as peripheral mesosomes. They help in secretion of enzymes.
