Varun takes a certain number of rotis during lunch, but always wastes half a roti. Rosa takes half the number of rotis as Varu,and always finishes her share. After 20 days, if the number of rotis that were consumed during lunch by them together is 110(excluding the rotis wasted),then find the number of rotis per meal that Varun and Rosa take.How many rotis were wasted in 20 days?
As there are 20 days , and every day varun waste half a roti , so he will waste 20 *(1/2) = 10 rotis .
As they have consumed 110 rotis in 20 days , so they have taken 110 + 10 = 120 rotis.
Let rosa eats x rotis and varun eats 2x rotis .
So x +2x = 120
Hence 3x = 120
Or x = 40
So varun eat 80 rotis and roja eat 40 rotis .
So varun eat 80 /20 = 4 rotis per day
And Rosa eat 40/20 = 2 rotis per day
As they have consumed 110 rotis in 20 days , so they have taken 110 + 10 = 120 rotis.
