two chords AO, OB are as shown in the figure if AB is the largest  chord of the circle and OA = 10  cm, OB= 24 cm what is the radius of the circle

We know diameter is the largest chord. So, AB is a diameter Let O' be the center of the circleAlso we know that  angle subtended by the diameter of a circle is always 90 degrees. So, using Pythagoras theorem AB2=AO2+BO2       =102+242      =100+576     =676AB=676AB=26 cm  And Radius AO=12×ABRadius =12×26           =13 cm

Dear student..
AB is the largest chord it means it is a diameter.so
AB = AO+Ob
AB=10+24
AB =34
And radius is half the diametr
So,r = d/2
r= AB/2
r= 34/2
r = 17.
Hence solved....
