Triangle and Properties        QA Test     Question no. 10      in the answer

x and  ADC are the opposite angles to the isosceles sides in  Δ ACD     not  y and   ADC

So,  x = 48 degrees and y = 84 degrees

If I am wrong, send me an explanation.

Please answer as soon as possible.

Hi Meghana!

You have found that ∠ADC = 48°
In isosceles triangle ACD, AC = AD.
Thus, the opposite angles opposite to these sides of this triangle must be equal.
But the angles opposite to sides AC and AD of triangle ACD are ∠ADC and ∠ACD respectively.
∴ ∠ACD = ∠ADC
y = 48°

Now using angle sum property in ΔACD, we have
∠CAD + ∠ACD + ∠CDA = 180°
x + 48° + 48° = 180°
x = 180° − 96°
x = 84°

This is why x = 84° and y = 48°.

Hope! This will help you.
Cheers!!!
