Given: A : B = 5 : 6 and B : C = 8 : 9 In order to find the ratio of A : B : C, we have to make the values of both the B's given above, same A : B = 5 : 6 (1) Multiply the RHS of B : C by $(\frac{6}{8})$ ; we get $B : C = 8 \times \frac{6}{8} : 9 \times \frac{6}{8} B : C = 6 : \frac{27}{4} (2)$ On comparing (1) and (2), we get $A : B : C = 5 : 6 : \frac{27}{4}$ To remove fraction, multiply by 4 on R H S, we get A : B : C = 20 : 24 : 27
