the ratio of the speed of two vehicles is 2:3. if 1st vhicle covers 50km in 3 hrs, what dist. is covered in 2 hrs by the 2 nd vehicle

Ratio of speed of 2 vehicles = 2 : 3

Let the speed of first vehicle be 2x km/hr

Let the speed of second vehicle be 3x km/hr

Distance covered by first vehicle in 3 hrs = 50 km.

Speed of first vehicle

So, speed of second vehicle

 =25 km/hr

Let the distance covered by second vehicle in 2 hrs = y  km

∴ Speed of second vehicle

Thus, the distance covered by second vehicle in 2 hrs is 50 km.

Ratio of speed of 2 vehicles = 2 : 3

Let speed of first vehicle = 2x

Let speed of second vehicle = 3x

Distance covered by first vehicle in 3 hours = 50 km

Speed of first vehicle = Distance / Time = 50 km / 3 hours = 16 2/3 km per hour

Therefore, 2x = 16 2/3 km

 = 2x = 16 2/3

 = x = 16 2/3*1/2 = 25

Speed of second vehicle = 25 km*3 = 75 km per hour

Distance covered by second vehicle in 2 hours = 2*75 km = 150 km

=> The distance covered by second vehicle in 2 hour is 150 km.
