the mean of 10 items was 70.later on it was find that one item 92 was misread as 29 .what was correct mean?

Mean= 70

Mean= ^{Sum of all observations}/_{Number of observation}

70=^{Sum of all observations}/10

Sum of all observations = 700

But One observation 92 was misread as 29

It means that 29 is recorded in place of 92.

So we need to make 29 as 92 for that add 63 to 29.

(29 is included in Sum of all observation )

Hence Mean=700 +63/10

Mean=763/10

Man = 76.3
