The length,breadth and height of a room are 5m, 4m and 3m respectively. Find the cost of white washing the inner of the room and ceiling at the rate of Rs 50 per square metre.

 Given,

length of a room = 5m

breadth of the room = 4m

height of the room = 3m

Therefore, Area of four walls = 2h ( l + b )

                                                 = 2 * 3 ( 4m + 5m )

                                                 = 6 ( 9 )

                                                 = 54 Sq m

Area of ceiling = lb [ beacause the ceiling is in rectangular shape ]

                        = 5m * 4m

                       = 20 Sqm

So, Total area = area of four walls + area of ceiling

                       = 54 Sqm + 20 Sqm

                       = 74 Sqm

Cost of white-washing 1 Sqm = Rs 50

Cost of white washing 74 Sqm = Rs 50 * 74 Sqm

                                                   = Rs 3700 /-
