Deccan architecture is an amalgamation of Indo Islamic and Dravidian architecture. Architecture in the Deccan consists of the indigenous Dravidian style as well as the architecture of the Muslim invaders. 

 Gol Gumbaz is the most important monument in Bijapur.It is a monument of Indo-Islamic architectural style.significant feature of the Gol Gumbaz is its central dome which stands without the support of pillars. Also the central dome of Gol Gumbaz is the second largest dome in the world after the dome of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.This architectural dome houses the tomb of King Adil Shah and was built in 1656 AD.
