Yes, the above statement is true because without atmosphere life on earth is difficult to survive.There would be no oxygen and breathing would become impossible. Moreover, The ultraviolet rays of the sun would enter directly because there would be no protective shield that is the atmosphere.

the earth would have been a barren planet without the atmosphere , as without air plants the producers , cannot photosynthesize due to no co2 . there would be no plants on earth , as a result animal existence will also not be present . oxgen and other gases also would not be present .
