The difference betwwen the ages of two cousins is 10 years.15 yeras ago,if the elders one was twice as old as the younger one,find their present age.

Let the age of the younger cousin be x.

Let the age of the elder cousin be (x+10).[We add 10 to x to indicate that he is elder and as given in the data the diiferenc between their ages is 10]

Fifteen years ago ,

The youngest cousin would be (x-15) and the eldest cousin would be [(x+10)-15] i.e.( x -5).

Forming the equation,we get,

(x-5) = 2(x-15) [As the elder one is twice as old as the younger one when you multiply the younger one's age by 2, you will get the elder one's age]

x-5 = 2x - 30

2x-x = -5+30

x = 25

Therfore, the age of the younger cousin is 25 and the elder cousin is 35(x+10).
