T.S of mammalian testis revealing seminiferous tubules show different types of cell
  1. Name the two types of cells of germinal epithelium
  2. Name the cells scattered in connective tissue and lying between seminiferous tubules.Differentiate between them on the basis of theirfunctions

T.S. of mammalian testis:

(1) Two types of cells in germinal epithelium are squamous epithelium and cuboidal epithelium.
(2) There is a group of polyhedral endocrine cells scattered in connective tissue and lying between the seminiferous tubules known as interstitial cells or the Leydig's cells.
The sertoli cells nourish the germ cells whereas the Leydig cells synthesise and secrete the hormone androgen.
