9x+8y=42---(equation 1)
3x-2y=o-----(equation 2)
elimination method 
subtract equation 1 and 2 we get  
                                                9x+8y=42
                                           =(9x-6y=0)
                                               -----------
                                             0+14y=42
                                               y=42 /14
                                                 y=3------(equation 3)
                                                   substitute equation 3 in 2nd equation 
===9x+8y=42
===9x+8*3=42
===9x+24=42
===9x=42-24
===9x=18
===x=18/9
===x=2
therefore x=2 and y=3 solution=(2,3)
