Dear Student,

The resolution of the image is not very clear. Assuming the charges in the inner shell = 2q and outer shell = q, the answers for the asked situations are as follows:

1. If only switch S1 is closed.
The inner shell will be grounded. Hence, its charge will become 0.
The outer shell remains isolated with the inner shell and ground. Hence, its charge remains q.

2. If only swith S2 is closed.
The outer shell will be grounded. Hence, its charge will become 0.
The inner shell remains isolated with the outer shell and ground. Hence, its charge remains 2q.

3. If only switch S3 is closed.
The inner and outer shells will be connected but both remain isolated from ground. As such, the charges distribute equally among them i.e., the charge on each shell will be 2q+q2=3q2=1.5q
4. If both S2 and S3 are closed.
The inner and outer shells will be connected and grounded. Thus, all the charges drain into the ground and the charges on both the shells become 0.
