Solution :

We need force to lift objects to overcome the force of gravity (weight of the object). 
We have all heard people saying that to lift an object of mass m, we need to apply force F equal to its weight 'mg' 
i.e. F = mg 
Hence, greater force is required to lift a greater weight.
