Solution-
After independence in 1948 the democratically elected Sri Lankan Government adopted a series of Majoritarian measures to establish Sinhala supremacy by passing an Act in 1956. The measures were like-
1. Sinhala to be recognised as only official language subsiding Tamil and other languages.
2. Government formulated plans according to which only Sinhalese were to get jobs and admissions in university.
3. New constitution said that only Buddhism to be promoted by state.
4. These measures coming one after other alienated the minority groups further one after other.
