Q1.Why are arteries thick walled and veins thin walled? Q2. Why do blood flows at high pressure inside the arteries and at low pressure inside the veins? Q3. How do blood helps in removing waste from our body?

1. Blood is pumped into the arteries with a lot of pressure and the thickness helps the arteries to sustain such pressure. Veins are thin walled as they carry deoxygenated blood towards the heart and experience less pressure comparable to that of arteries.

2. As the arteries carry blood away from heart and veins bring blood towards heart. The heart pumps blood with high pressure. So the blood in the arteries has a higher pressure than the blood in the veins.

3. The blood carries the wastes produced during respiration in tissues and cells like  to lungs and extra water and urea to the kidneys. The CO2 is removed through lungs during exhalation and urea is excreted through excretory system (kidney, ureters, urinary bladder and urethra).  For more details on excretory system, kindly refer to the study material on our website at the following link

ANS1 VIENS ARE THIN WALLED BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO PUMP BLOOD FOR A VERY SHORT DISTANCES WHERE AS WHEN IT COMES TO ARTERIESARTERIES HAVE TO PUMP BLOOD TO VERY DISTANT PARTS OF THE BODY SO THEY CAN ONLY DO SO IF THEY HAVE THICK WALLS THAT IS WHY ARTERIES CONTAIN THICK WALLS WHEN COMPAED TO VIENS OR ANY BLOOD VESSELS.

ANS 2 The cardiovascular system consists of two circuits, systemic, from left ventricle around the various organs (largely arranged in parallel) back to the right atrium and the pulmonary circulation from the right ventricle through the lungs to the left atrium.  The circulation of blood around the both these circuits requires a pressure gradient from arteries at high pressure to veins at low pressure.

The useful and harmful substances in blood enter thekidneys, where the capillaries filter it. The useful substances are reabsorbed, but the harmful substances are removed along with water in the form of urine. The urine from the kidneys comes down through long tubes called the ureters, which open into the urinary bladder where the urine is stored temporarily. When the bladder fills, the urine is disposed.

The functioning of the kidneys stops when there is aninfection. This is known as kidney failure. As a result, waste products remain in the blood. When blood is not filtered, survival becomes difficult, so it is filtered through an artificial kidney. The process is called dialysis.  The artificial kidney is called a dialysis machine.
Sweat is an excretory product and it consists of water and salt. Sweat cools the body and it helps to maintain normal temperature.

a1]  the arteries are thick walled because they carry the oxygenated blood from the heart to the rest of the body . due to the rapid flow of blood the high pressure is generated. if the arteries were thin walled then they would burst out. veins carry the deoxygenated blood from all the body parts back to the heart. they all have a common destination. that is why........

a2]u can find d anser. 2 dis question in d first anser . d second sentence

a3] the filteration occursin the kidneys. the blood capillaries help in this process.the toxic substances are thrown out of the body in either the form of urine[unabsorbed water] or the feacul matter[solid trash]. therefore .........

the arteries are thick as they carry oxygen rich blood . the veins are thin as they carry carbondioxide rich blood .

arteries are thick walled as blood flows in a v. high pressure. it doesnt flow in such a pressure in the veins.if arteries were thin walled, the arteries would burst out.

arteries have to transport blood to distinct parts of the body so they are thick walled.
