Q.6. "In his defense Carter really had little choice" substantiate the above statement in the light of the given text.

Carter's discovery of the tomb had come after extensive searching, but he ran into trouble as he finally reached the mummy. The ritual resins has hardened, cementing Tut to the bottom of his solid gold coffin. No amount of force could make it budge. Carter tried to loosen the resins by keeping the mummy out in the sun for several hours. It was kept out in the blazing sunshine  but nothing budged. Therefore, Carter chiselled away the consolidated material from beneath the limbs and trunk before it was possible to raise the king's remains. Carter had to cut the mummy free otherwise thieves would have gone past the guards and ripped it apart to remove the gold. To separate Tut from his adornments, Carter's man removed the mummy's head and severed nearly every major joint. Perhaps, Carter did not have much choice as he decided to take these steps: steps that made others hold him responsible for the damage caused to the precious mummy.
