Q.5. Write a brief note on the making of the Indian constitution.

The process of making the Constitution of India started with the formation of the Constituent Assembly. The Constituent Assembly was elected by elected members of the provincial assemblies. The 389 members of the Assembly took nearly three years to form the Constitution of India. The Constituent Assembly appointed a drafting committee under the chairmanship of Dr. BR Ambedkar to draft the Constitution. The draft constitution was discussed, and amendments proposed and enacted. Finally, the Constitution was passed and accepted by the Assembly on November 26 1949. The Constitution came into effect on January 26 1950.
