Q.3.There is nothing here to fight over except a vast and frozen wasteland.

1) Which fight does the author point to?

2) In what ways is the war in this area wasteful?

3) What has the war so far resulted in?
From the chapter Siachen-the forgotten war

Dear Student,
It would be helpful if you can mention the name of chapter as given in the contents at the start of the book. This will make answering easy for us.

Thank you.

Manasvi I know ma'am has corrected our as well as your  books , but still this is the answer :
1) The author is pointing to the fight between India and Pakistan for the Siachen glacier.
2) Siachen glacier war is considered wasteful as there is nothing there to fight over except a vast and frozen wasteland.
3) The war has so far resulted in death of  more than 2,000 soldiers from both the sides
