1. Ideologies of Both Moderates and Extremists played an important role in carrying forward the nationalist struggle.

a. One would certainly opt for a strategy and ideology (of moderates) which believes in legal constitutional methods rather than violence.

b. For the development of our country it is important to resort to legitimate means that can bring about peaceful transformation of society.

c. Violent methods will have devastating effects in the present scenario, as factors like caste, religion have become more well entrenched in the society today and are exploited for political gains.

d. However, extremist method of giving active role to the masses is important for the progress of the country as it allows people to voice their opinion, making country more participative.

e. Power of the Ballot, which is right to vote, must be realized for making government more responsive.

 

One can compare movement against corruption as initiated by many social activists with that of Mahatma Gandhi's freedom movement.

a. Both Gandhi and Anna Hazare took nation by stride, by raising the consciousness of the people.

b. They brought about active participation of the people and direct struggle by the people.

c. Movement against corruption carried the legacy of nationalist movement by following Gandhian ideals of Satyagraha, non violence, peaceful agitation, power of truth.

d. Anna was rightly called 21st century Gandhi because of the moral authority he commanded.

e. Gandhi led the struggle against the colonial rule for freedom, Anna and his followers led the struggle for freedom from corruption ignited the minds of the people.

Certainly, the Gandhi’s ideals and movement led the country to the path of freedom,  Movement against corruption revolutionized society once again, made people active, aware, vigilant and made our society more participative, with government responding to people’s demands by drafting Lok Pal bill.
