priya's bio teacher suggested that if human beings turn vegetarian,the problem of food shortages will vanish within 6 months.what is the basis of her prediction?

Basis of Priya’ bio teacher’s predication would be that raising animals takes far more land, food and water, than raising crop plants.

 “Turning vegetarian, can solve the problem of food shortages’’ is a very debatable issue. Some experts are in favour and some are in against of this topic. Although raising animals takes far more land, food and water, than raising crop plants. But on the other hand, growing of crops also has some limitations such as requirement of suitable soil, atmospheric conditions, etc. 

It is not certain that if all the human beings turn vegetarian, then the problem of food supply will vanish within six months. This is because the problem of food starvation does not lie in meat-eating. Eating both types of food: vegetarian and non vegetarian, produce no effect on food shortages. Shortages in food supply occur due to unequal food distribution, bad farming practices, lack of resources such as tractors, seeds, etc.
