perhaps more than development it is reasonable to expect democracies to reduce economic disparities. Explain

Economic inequality may be the most acceptable expectation for democracies. Democracies are built on the principle of political equality, yet despite this, economic inequality is on the rise. No political party wants to lose the support of the poor, who make up a substantial percentage of our electorate. Despite this, democratically elected governments appear to have little interest in addressing the issue of poverty in their countries. Good governance is required of democracies, but progress is not always the result. Economic growth is influenced by a variety of factors, including the country's size, global position, international collaboration, and the country's economic priorities.
