Mankind has been consumed by desire(fire) and hardened by hate(ice). The poet says the world will end in war or in fragments caused by the ridgidity of heart and head. What in your opinion can establish permanent peace on earth.

 To save the world we have to put down the fire and melt the ice within everyone whith peace and love. This can be achieved when discrimination is abolisheand equality rules the people and when freedom is provided to one and all. Fire and ice like emotions once put to end, peace will start ruling the orld. It simply means that if we start forgiving others, compromising with them instead of fighting, making people smile, working for the happiness and understanding each other, sharing and caring and valuing the respect for human life can spread peace throughout the world.
