Charles Chuck Hooper was a strong, determined, and compassionate man. After the accident his health became fragile. He had a subduable haemorrhage in the motor section of the brain, completely paralysing his left side. He became incompetent and slow at work. However, with the help of Duke, he regained the courage and enthusiasm to fight against all odds to achieve strong goals. With Duke's constant support and enthusiastic help, Hooper managed to bring himself back to life, regaining the willpower to get better. ​​​​​​He was determined to make it far in life and this is the primary reason that he starts walking again. The recognition that he receives after the death of Duke is the result of his hard work and strong will.
