.La3+ (Z=57) and Lu3+ (Z=71) do not show any coloured solution. why?

La3+ ion has the configuration of xenon which is highly stable,Lu3+ also has the stable electronic configuration i.e. these completely filled valence orbital occur so they do not formed any colour ion or compounds.
